The evening features poetry of Emily Dickinson set by composers Aaron Copland and Ricky Ian Gordon. This theatrical performance is brought to life by members of the Atelier lyrique as they explore text by Dickinson, one of the great American poets. The audience is invited into the writing room of the enigmatic Emily as she explores nature, life, death, and eternity leading up to her final hours of her life.

Anne is distracted by the poppies outside the window as her daughter Grace, nervously paces around the bridal suite. It’s an hour before Grace’s wedding and nothing seems to be right. It reluctantly comes out that she misses her father, that due to tragedy, she’s never met. The 101 to Ojai is a story about discovering the love between Grace’s parents, the strength of a mother dealing with life’s toughest moments, and the power to say yes, confidently moving forward even though you’re not sure how the story ends.
